A fresh leak from Bungie’s boat seems to have revealed the title of the next Destiny expansion pack due later this year/September time (if the leak is correct).
This autumn’s Destiny expansion is called ‘Rise of Iron.’ Artwork obtained by Kotaku (shown below), shows Iron Banner boss Lord Saladin taking centre stage, in front of a location that looks very similar to Earth’s Cosmodrome wall.
Rise of Iron has – according to the leak and various reports – been billed internally as a late replacement for Destiny 2, which was delayed earlier this year.
This latest report suggests the Rise of Iron raid is loosely based on one originally intended for launch in last year’s House of Wolves DLC. The content was then repurposed for a new raid designed to launch last month, before being pushed back further.
It has yet to be officially announced as to what the expansion will bring for fans come September, but there have been multiple reports in the past of various content pieces being cut from the base game and its DLC expansions following delayed development. These reported cut contents include a half-built Mars area cut from The Taken King, and two extra DLC packs, which were originally envisioned to be sold this year.
