With the year’s biggest gaming conference less than a month away there have been many announcements from companies and publishers letting us know what is going to be showcased. There are also several other things we are hoping might show their heads. So here is a list of what has been confirmed and some of the things are desperately wanting to see at E3 2016:
Nintendo: The company has confirmed that their new console, the NX, won’t be ready to view at E3 this year and we will have to wait until 2017 to get our hands on it. However, the new Legend of Zelda game, which will be releasing on both the NX and Wii U, will be there as a playable demo for fans. Other than these, we might get some more information about Pokémon Sun and Moon after the release trailer and starters were revealed. I think we are all hoping to see some big stuff from Nintendo as they have been fairly quiet over the last few years and quite frankly, I think we have missed them. No mention of a live conference though, just a booth.
EA: Unlike previous years EA won’t have a booth but will still be doing a conference. They are expected to be showing off Titanfall 2 and hopefully show us a little of what the new instalment will offer us. We are also hoping for some more on new the Battlefield, which caused a meltdown when the trailer was unleashed upon the world. Needless to say, we were all excited when it was finally confirmed it will be set in WW1. There will probably also be the standard reveal of Fifa 17. Fans are also hoping for updates and titbits about Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Ubisoft: Unusually there will be no new Assassin’s Creed trailer to look forward to this year, which will be weird but I think we can all agree that it won’t be bad thing for the franchise in the long run to have a year off. Ubisoft have also hinted that they will be revealing a brand new IP at this year’s conference along with a lot of dates for game previously revealed. This might mean we will finally know when we can buy games like South Park: The Fractured but Whole and Ghost Recon: Wildlands.
Microsoft: Microsoft are focussing more on their hardware, or so they say, giving us some details on how Windows 10 will work on consoles to enhance the experience. There also might be talk about an updated Xbox One. Hopefully we will also see some release dates for games such as Cuphead and Sea of Thieves. There might also be announcements about Alan Wake 2 and a new Forza.
Bethesda: As we were shown Fallout 4 last year, Bethesda will need to bring something of equal awe to live up to their reputation. Many are hoping this will come in the form of the new Elder Scrolls title, myself included. There will also be a playable demo of Dishonored 2, which was teased to us at least years event, and it looks as though it will be a really solid game and more of what made the first one brilliant fun.
Sony: Much like their rivals, Microsoft, there might be more focus on hardware rather than games for Sony this year. We might get little more about PSVR and a showcase of some VR compatible games. PlayStation fans are also hoping for the announcement of the PS4K, whether this will happen or not we will have to wait and see. Sony have recently announced some details about their conference. Again we are also hoping for updates or release dates for Horizon Zero Dawn, which has allegedly been pushed back until next year, WiLD, and The Last Guardian which has seemed to once again drop of the radar.
There is also a plethora of other titles gaming fans are hoping will be announced as in development or perhaps even in the pipeline and also some games which we know are coming but haven’t been officially announced. Here are some which the writers here at Untold Gaming are wanting to hear about: Crash Bandicoot, Red Dead Redemption 2, Prey 2, The Last of Us 2, Resident Evil 7, Battlefront 2. These are just a few of the games we are hoping for. Bring on E3 2016 and be sure to keep an eye on the website for news, updates, and reactions to the announcements throughout the event.
