It has been revealed today that the beta for Gran Turismo Sport, which was announced alongside the game back in October 2015, for has now been cancelled. The series creator, Kazunori Yamauchi, said that he is very sorry to all those who were waiting for it.
The reason behind the cancellation is that there were fears that if the beta was to go live and be completed, the game would then be pushed back until 2017 and that is something the studio didn’t want to happen.
Just because it’s beta we can’t just throw it out there. It’s required that in order to do an open beta we have to create a proper master for it, and considering the release timing that we announced, we decided that we just don’t have enough time to do two gold masters for the game. By omitting that it saves us about three months of time. – Kazunori Yamauchi
This comes after the new gameplay trailer was released for the game. Gran Turismo Sport is due for release on November 18th exclusively for the PS4.
