Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 4 will be making its first appearance on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next month. The game that refuses to stay down is coming back again!
Resident Evil 4 see’s series veteran Leon S. Kennedy return, now a secret service agent, to rescue the president’s daughter who has been kidnapped by a mysterious cult called the Los Illuminados.
Released way back in 2005 Resident Evil 4 was the first major departure from the classic formula of the series and is often regarded as being not only the best in the series, but one of the greatest games ever made.
Implementing several changes to the formula like in depth gun customization and a revamped inventory system, Resident Evil 4 is widely regarded as a pioneer in the action genre due to it almost single-handedly popularizing the over the shoulder view point used in so many third person action games.
Also new to the series was the step away from Zombies and a focus on a new faster and smarter enemy in the form of the Ganados.
The re-release will come bundled with all of the original content that was available but will also contain the extras added in later versions of the game.
Such extras include Separate Ways; the Ada Wong side story that takes place in tandem with Leon’s main mission detailing how the super spy bumps into Leon throughout his mission. The Mercenaries; An intense bullet fest as you take your hero into several locations from the main game and slaughter the ganados and other super enemies as you battle to gain a high score through kills and chaining kills together into combo’s. And finally the New Game Plus mode allowing you to take the super powerful arsenal you attain through playing these unique modes and unique costumes. Did we mention you can unlock a freaking laser beam for this mode?
You will be able to get your hands on Resident Evil 4 August 30th on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
