The Sims 4 has recently received a major update to the character creation/customisation options, to bring it more into line with the modern age, allow more players to identify with their characters, and provide a load of new gender customisation options.
Previously, certain items were only available to one sex or another, such as hairstyles, clothing, voices, walking styles and physiques. Now, following the update, players can ascribe any cosmetic feature they want to any character, regardless of gender, thus also unlocking over 700 pieces of content (which were previously locked to genders).
The update even allows players to switch their character’s gender at any time and specify whether they can reproduce with other characters. Maxis have also removed symbols noting a characters gender in the game’s gallery.
