If you loved the knitted character of Yarny in Unravel, then there’s – potentially – good news for you here!
EA executive vice president Patrick Soderlund has recently confirmed (via the official EA Blog) that the company has signed a new agreement to work on Swedish devs Coldwood Interactive (the devs behind Unravel), next project.
Patrick Soderlund said.
“Earlier this year, we released Unravel, a one-of-a-kind, physics-based puzzle platformer that captured the hearts of players around the world. The awesomely creative development team at Coldwood Interactive brought tiny, endearing Yarny to life.
At EA, we love working with creative and passionate development teams, in our own studios and our partners. Which is why I’m very pleased to announce that we’ve signed a new agreement with Coldwood to work with them on their next project.”
Unravel 2 isn’t outrightly named from the agreement, but given the games relative success, the pleasant Indie-Friendly face it gave EA, and broad appeal – as well as the strong mentioning within Sunderlunds statement – it seems a fair bet to think Unravel 2 could be the new project. However, equally, it could be something entirely new! Only time will tell as Sunderland went on to say he had no more information to share for the time being.
