Last week, E3 gave gamers across the country at glimpse at the future. Whether it be fighting off unrelenting hordes of the undead, or swashbuckling across the seven seas, there has never been a better time to be a gamer.
Unfortunately, it appears that there has never been a worse time to be in a relationship with a gamer. Looking at all the recently revealed release dates, February 14th stands out as a highlight. Americans know this date well, you’re often punished if you forget it. This is Valentine’s Day.
Valentine’s Day! You shower your significant other with love and affection. You spend the day together, you go out to eat, and you empty your wallets for a fantastic date.
If you’re in a relationship with a gamer, beware. On Valentine’s Day of 2017 both For Honor and Persona 5 are set to release in America.
Is your guy or girlfriend the Persona type? Who needs social events when you can make social links! The only Teddie you’ll be receiving this year looks like this guy:
Persona 4: Golden introduced a lot of people to this beloved franchise. Persona 5 is set to capitalize on the social simulation and RPG-fusion gameplay that Persona has mastered.
Borrowing from the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, this iteration in the Persona series changes up how the player can acquire new persona (monsters you fight with). In Persona 5, players converse with the monsters, they try to sway them to join their party. If successful, the screen lights up with the phrase “PERSONA GET.”
Hopefully, you’ll be able to convince your significant other to spend February 14th with you.
VALENTINE’S DAY GET!
Your other big challenge is going to be Ubisoft’s new IP, For Honor. For Honor casts you in the role of a samurai, knight or Viking. With all-out multiplayer wars and a newly revealed, extensive single-player campaign, For Honor has a lot going for it.
There’s a draw in For Honor’s intense, one-on-one melee combat. A Viking, wielding a two-handed axe, his fellow-men dying all around him, you play as a hero! A killer fueled by the bloodlust of war!
The action, the intensity, a steep learning curve… Players are going to want to get in on the ground floor.
Sorry ladies and gents, if you’re in a relationship with a gamer interested in For Honor… You better be ready to go into battle TOGETHER!
